Will God Tempt You?

Will God Tempt You?

God will never tempt

Resist Temptation

No, Not Ever

I have had conversations with men who blame God for their sinful behavior. They ask how a man can fight such temptation if God allows it. They blame God for their weakness and don’t place sin in Satan’s lap or on their conscience. “If God didn’t want me to look, He wouldn’t have given me eyes to see.” He says as he stares at the young college student innocently walking on the sidewalk. Blaming God is a weak justification for their struggle in resisting sin. God will never tempt you to sin.

Every Mans Battle

However, all men suffer from this type of temptation. The strength to fight such behavior comes from God. I want to hand every single one of these men a copy of Steve Arterburn’s book “Every Man’s Battle.” This book helped me draw much strength and provided insight into God and also made me aware of my poor behavior. I also wanted to love my wife in a much more profound and respectful manner, just as God intended it.

My desire for what is just and right, coupled with God’s words of encouragement, helps me fight this battle. Every man can resist sin. Please draw from the strength of Jesus to overcome this struggle.

God will never create or participate in sin. However, Jesus will use a bad event and turn it around to a positive result to serve His divine purpose.

James Chapter 1

(v.13) “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. (v.14)  But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. (v.15)  Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

It states in Romans that God will give us over to the sins we refuse to release, so don’t use God as an excuse for sin. Evil comes from Satan, and his goal is to lure us away from God’s righteousness.

By using the power of God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit, we can overcome any sin. However, please remember Jesus also knows we’re human and live in a fallen world; that is why Jesus paid our penalty on the cross. Jesus will forgive and erase the stain of your sin. His shed blood washes away your sin. He endured the humiliation, torture, and death on the cross.  He did this so you may have a chance to stand before God cleansed of your sin.

His Return

Then why do sin and temptation still happen? Why can’t Jesus finally return and end this turmoil and pain for all time? Let me reassure you, He can, and He will, but In His timing. Specific events must take place both on Earth as well as in Heaven before Jesus returns.

God gave life to you as a gift from Him. Your time here is precisely the right time He intended you to be here. If you follow Jesus, you will significantly impact the souls around you as you help Jesus save eternal souls that God needs you to touch, just by being alive.

Joseph’s Pain

You are feeling pain or persecution if Satan tempts you. Sin causes pain. Please draw strength from Jesus Christ. I am personally sorry for any problems you may be facing right now. These problems will pass. Look to the future, keep your eyes on Jesus, search the Holy Spirit.

I often am reminded of Joseph, abandoned by his brothers and then sold into slavery. Afterward, He was tempted by and falsely accused of molesting his master’s wife, Then unjustly jailed for 15 or so years. These events were horrible, and I don’t want anyone suffering through this type of tragedy. Joseph resisted sin, and he remained faithful to God, and Joseph was eventually rewarded for his strength and faithfulness.

Please consider what would have happened if Joseph gave in to sin and lost his faith in God. His family and his people most likely would have perished, and he never would have reunited with his father. Stand firm with Christ, He will strengthen you.

Blessed

(v.12) Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. NKJV

Will God tempt you? NEVER! Fight the good fight, stay strong and draw peace and rest in the word of God. Jesus gives you peace and truth. Satan steals your peace and robs you of joy. Please open your heart to Jesus. Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. Ask for forgiveness and redemption. “Seek Me first.” Leave your sin behind you. Jesus will accept you just as you are. He will love you. Allow Him to rescue you from your sin. Please accept Jesus. He already accepts you.
