So All Could Be Saved

He died For the Ungodly Too
Romans 5 & 6
Christ died not only for the faithful but also for the ungodly. What’s that? Huh? He died for who? Yes, Jesus died for you, the sinner. He sacrificed His life so you can have a chance to go to Heaven with Him. God so loved the world (a world He made) that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that you may have eternal life. (John 3:16)
If you don’t know Christ or if you aren’t sure who He Is, or if you can’t stand God because you don’t understand how a loving God can allow such pain in this world. Know this; Jesus Christ died for you too. Whatever pain your feeling, He’s seen it. He knows it. He felt it.
One Man
In the early days, One man brought sin into the whole world, Adam sinned against God. This sin brought condemnation and death to all that followed. This transgression separated God and man.
Later, Moses received the law of God, so humanity would be aware of sin and take steps to cover and atone for their transgressions.
Jesus, who is the Son of God, endured horrific pain, torture, and anguish. He sacrificed His earthly life to save sinful humanity for all eternity. Jesus paid for our sins.
One man brought sin into the world; however, another much greater man, the Son of God, broke the chains of sin and gave all humanity a chance at redemption. It is available to you if you want it.
What Christ Did to Sin
(Romans Ch 5: 6-8) For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (v.7) Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. (v.8) But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Berean Study Bible)
This gift of salvation is free. This gift is called Grace. The more sin abounds on earth. The more Grace is in abundance. Grace is favor (in this case, redemption) given by God to those who do not deserve it. Since all have fallen short of the glory of God, that would mean every last soul on earth.
Certainly Not!
Chapter 6 continues with clarification on grace. (v.1) What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? (v.2) Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? (v.3) Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (v.4) We therefore were buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.
Just because Jesus increases grace when sin has increased, this does not permit us to continue in our sin. We cannot do the work or the will of God by engaging in evil. Sin is Satan’s goal, not God’s.
Who Do You Obey?
(v.15) What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly not! (v.16)Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness? (v.17) But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed. (v.18) You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
(v.19) I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
Bad Fruit – Good Fruit
(v.20) For when you were slaves to sin, you were free of obligation to righteousness. (v.21) What fruit did you reap at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? The outcome of those things is death. (v.22) But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the fruit you reap leads to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life. (v.23) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Sin is unable to produce good results. Good results only come from God. Sin will enslave you in darkness. However, righteousness will set you free from sin if you willingly give yourself to Christ.
Your Savior
Jesus died for you. He also died for me. He died for the ungodly. Wretched in our sin. These transgressions make us unworthy of God. Jesus, as God’s Son lovingly, stood as a Father, He did this for his children. He protected and spiritually fought for His children; us.
Christ cared enough to sacrifice Himself for you. He saved you from Hell, but only if you accept Him. Please learn who He is and what He did for you. Become His child and give your heart to Him. He loves you and He wants you safe with Him.
