The Light of God
Many people want to spend time with God either because they’re looking for answers to life’s difficulties or just want a sense of peace in their hearts. However, they often wonder, just Who is God?
The God of the Bible is not just another stone or wooden object, or some obscure idol man has imagined through the ages of time. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of the Bible is the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end. God is the creator of the universe, this Earth, and of you.
God is Omniscient-all knowing, Omnipotent-all powerful, Omnipresent-present everywhere at the same time. God’s creation and influence are seen in ALL things. For example the rise and fall of nations, the Philistines, Canaanites, the Roman Empire, the re-establishment of the nation of Israel, all done by the hand of God. In science, the study of microbes, DNA, and bacteria. God’s will controls the creation and extinction of entire species such as dinosaurs. God is the creator of everything, and God is the sustainer of everything.
The Triune God
God is, God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and the God the Holy Spirit. The doctrine of the Trinity has been developed from scripture written by the inspiration of God Himself. God is one God consisting of three parts
God the Father:
He is the creator of all. Human perception of God is challenging to comprehend only due to the limits of our minds. He created you as a person with a soul, mind, and body. God created us in His image. Our Lord created the human race to honor and worship Him. He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. That relationship was evident in the relationship He had with Adam and Eve.
God wants our love to be voluntary. He gave us free will to choose Him. Love means so much more when it’s given of our choice, not like a communist dictator seeking propaganda-style glory. He has provided for all our needs and led us on this Earth like a shepherd caring for His sheep. However, without getting into the story of fallen angels and Satan’s existence, the free will God gave allows humans to be susceptible to lies from an ungodly source.
Human innocence, much like a child, followed God’s guidance without question. Satan, in the form of a serpent, fed lies about God to Eve. Adam chose to believe the same lies. Satan is jealous of who God is and wants what He has created. Because Satan is unable to create anything, he is bent on destroying what God has made, including us. One thing we as a race must always remember is God loves us. He loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16) to redeem us from the grasp of Satan’s lies.
