Escape Satans Trap

Escape From Sin

Jesus has enabled us, the believers,  the ability to escape from sin. His shed blood on the cross paid our debt of iniquity to God and has empowered us with the Holy Spirit. This strength through Him shows us we can walk away from our sin and escape Satans entrapment.

Truth or Lies

I have stated in previous posts; Satan is the father of lies. Satan has lost the spiritual war. Jesus took away his ability to trap, snare, and destroy people’s lives. Therefore Satan tries to fool you into thinking God doesn’t exist, or Jesus doesn’t love you, or He doesn’t care. All lies designed to keep you from knowing the truth of Jesus Christ.

One of the tricks the evil one will use is the notion that your sin is somehow unforgivable. Another lie that not only tricks you into believing Jesus does not love you, and He won’t save you from Hell, belief in these lies also diminishes your heart for God.

Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. No matter what you have done, you are redeemable and savable in the eyes of your Risen Savior, Jesus.

The Cost of Rejection

The only sin that is not redeemable is the rejection of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If you are a faithful believer, Jesus can stand with you and personally restore your standing with God and allow you into Heaven. Jesus knows your heart and soul and knows your level of faith in Him.

Relentless Evil

Satan, however, is still trying to tempt you away from God by all matter of sin.

  • Pride: thinking “you’re all that” and placing yourself above other people.
  • Greed and Envy: how come he has that car, that girl, that house, that job. I’m going to take it. I deserve it too.
  • Immoral and Adulterous thoughts and actions: look at that, you can have him/her too, it doesn’t matter, no one will know.

These are just three out of a thousand temptations. These are the things Satan uses in this world to keep you from knowing about the sacrifice and love Jesus has for all us who accept and know Jesus.

Godly Escape Plan

As you continue in your daily reading of the Bible, you will reach 1st Corinthians chapter 10. In this chapter, Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, tasked Paul to instruct the new church in Corinth how to avoid sinful behavior. Jesus gave his followers the knowledge of His redemption and strength to resist the spiritual war our enemy wages against us.

Verse 13 states, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.”

Jesus will always provide an escape. Never believe there is no way out of sinful behavior. The enemy of your soul wants you to think you are trapped and can’t avoid this evil path. Whether its drugs or alcohol, or an adulterous relationship, or maybe you’ve become a thief and have committed crimes against others. There is always an escape route available. You feel trapped, but that’s the lie, Jesus gave you an escape plan, seek Him, and find redemption. Build your faith in Him and learn how to escape from sin.

A Fundamental Concept

Now I need you to understand an essential concept; accountability. If you have done any of these things, the consequences of your actions must be paid. Honesty with yourself and others builds trust. Paying debts to others builds character and self-esteem. If you hide your transgression from society, it will chew a hole in your soul that Satan will use to fill you with more lies and self-destructive behavior. Also, please understand this fundamental concept; you can’t hide any of this from God. Jesus knows your heart better than you know yourself.

I have heard the phrase “confession is good for the soul.” this is true. When you decide to talk to God about the mistake that was made and sincerely ask for forgiveness, a tremendous weight is lifted from you. It almost feels as if your soul was released from prison.

Darkness cannot exist where the light of God shines. Confession allows the light to be shown on your problem and lets others come to your aid to help. You don’t have to fight this alone.

No Truth in Him

Satan is a con-man. His power lies solely within lies and deceit. If you know the truth of God the Father and God the Son Jesus Christ, then we see the truth; Jesus has won the war for us, but the individual battle continues. Knowing this, we now have the strength to walk away from the destructive life of sin Satan has forced upon us. However, this battle will not be easy. Do not make the mistake of thinking our enemy will just let go without a fight. The last thing he wants you to do is to learn about Jesus and His forgiveness. Our enemy can’t stand the truth; he has no truth in him.

You are in the struggle of your life. This fight is for your soul. This fight is for the everlasting life that God gave you. Your enemy wants to steal it from you simply because Satan hates God. The enemy cares nothing for you. To him, you’re a pawn in his fight against Jesus.

God created you. Jesus has saved you. The Holy Spirit has been sent to guide you. God loves you. He wants you with Him. Please believe the truth of God. Choose Him and escape from sin. Jesus Christ has already paid the price of anything you may have done. Jesus did this on the cross for you.

Child of God

All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart. Walk away and escape from sin, walk toward the light of God, let the healing begin. Allow your soul to be reborn into the person God created you to be. A wonderful, beautiful child of God.
